Culpeper VDOT District Traffic Alert: Sept. 22-26

road-work-headerThe following highway work is scheduled; weather permitting, in the Culpeper VDOT District during the upcoming week. Traffic movements may be restricted and speed limits reduced in work zones. Items in italics contain new or updated information.

Albemarle County

Interstate 64 – Installation of communications conduit in median. Left shoulder closed in both directionsMondayThursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., from mile marker 107 (Crozet exit) to mile marker 94 in Augusta Co. Motorists should keep right and use caution approaching the work zone. Anticipated completion July 2015.

Interstate 64 westbound – Pavement marking eradication and pavement resurfacing. Alternating lane closures will occur overnight, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., from Route 22 bridge to Route 616 underpass. Motorists should expect minor delays.

Interstate 64 eastbound – Pavement marking eradication and patching. Alternating lane closures will occur overnight, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., from mile marker 116 to the Route 22 bridge. Alternating lane closures will occur; motorists should obey traffic controls.

Routes 250, 601, 610, 612, 627, 631, 663, 640, 654, 680, 708, 727, 743, 746, 795, 808, 1421, 1483 – Mowing and roadside trimming. Motorists should be aware of mobile work zones and slow-moving equipment along the road shoulders. Reduce speed and follow traffic controls. Brief delays are possible.

Routes 608, 627, 640, 643, 665, 1547 – Pavement patching. Flagging will occur. Motorists should slow down as they approach the work zone and expect brief delays.

Routes 621, 1422 – Repairs to roadway shoulders. Motorists should be alert for mobile work zone and construction equipment entering and exiting the highway.

Route 631 (5th Street Extended) – Joint repair. Alternating lane closures will occur at the Interstate 64 overpass nightly, 7:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Motorists should slow down as they approach the work zone and expect brief delays.

Route 688 (Midway Road) – Rural Rustic Road hard-surfacing project. There will be lane closures with flagging MondayFriday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should expect brief delays.

 

Culpeper County

Routes 522, 602, 605, 611, 640, 667, 692, 698, 716, 1050, 1051, 1052, 1053 – Mowing and roadside trimming. Motorists should be aware of mobile work zones and slow-moving equipment along the road shoulders. Reduce speed and follow traffic controls. Brief delays are possible.

Routes 625, 628, 632, 633, 640, 657 – Pavement patching. Flagging will occur. Motorists should slow down as they approach the work zone and expect brief delays.

Route 626 (Holly Springs Road) – Rural Rustic Road hard-surfacing project. There will be lane closures with flagging MondayFriday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should expect brief delays.

Routes 647, 661, 663 – Pipe replacements. Motorists should be alert for slow-moving equipment working in the roadway; brief delays possible.

Route 681 (Windsor Road) – Rural Rustic Road hard-surfacing project. There will be lane closures with flagging MondayFriday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should expect brief delays.

Route 715 (Duncan Trail) – Surface treatment from Route 644 (Reva Road) to Route 608 (Oakland Road). Flagging will occur with pilot vehicle. Motorists should slow down as they approach the work zone and expect brief delays.

Route 716 (Whippoorwill Lane) – Rural Rustic Road hard-surfacing project. There will be lane closures with flagging MondayFriday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should expect brief delays.

Route 746 (Settletown Place) – Rural Rustic Road hard-surfacing project. There will be lane closures with flagging MondayFriday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should expect brief delays.

Route 751 (Dragoon Road) – Rural Rustic Road hard-surfacing project. There will be lane closures with flagging MondayFriday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should expect brief delays.

Route 752 (Camp Road) – Surface treatment from dead end to Route 645 (Kirtley Trail). Flagging will occur with pilot vehicle. Motorists should slow down as they approach the work zone and expect brief delays.

 

Town of Culpeper

Routes 15/29 Business, 229 – Construction of roundabout at intersection. One lane of roundabout is now open. Intermittent lane closures on Route 15/29 Business and Route 229 will occur between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. MondayThursday and 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Motorists should obey traffic controls and proceed with caution through the work zone.

 

Fauquier County

Interstate 66 westbound – Installation of rumble strips. Alternating lane closures will occur from mile marker 34 to the Route 55 Bridge MondayFriday, 7 a.m.-7p.m.  Motorists should obey traffic controls.

Interstate 66 – Epoxy overlay on bridges over Route 245 (Old Tavern Road) at mile marker 31.8. Alternating lane closures will occur overnight in both directions.

Route 17 northbound – Replacement of under-drain. Alternating lane closures will occur at Interstate 66 interchange overnightWednesday beginning at 8 p.m. Motorists should expect minor delays.

Routes 602, 607, 622, 628, 635, 651, 661, 683, 685, 687, 704, 707, 712, 713, 731, 732, 802 – Mowing and roadside trimming. Motorists should be aware of mobile work zones and slow-moving equipment along the road shoulders. Reduce speed and follow traffic controls. Brief delays are possible.

Routes 615, 617,628, 647, 651, 674, 691, 786 – Repairs to roadway shoulders and ditching. Motorists should be alert for mobile work zone and construction equipment entering and exiting the highway.

Routes 637, 670, 702 – Pipe replacements. Motorists should obey traffic controls and expect minor delays.

Route 651 (Sumerduck Road) – Replacement of bridge over Sumerduck Run. Road closed with traffic detoured using Route 17 (Marsh Road) to Route 634 (Courtneys Corner Road) and back to Route 651. Anticipated completion April 2015.

Routes 672, 674, 688, 691 – Pavement patching. Flagging will occur. Motorists should slow down as they approach the work zone and expect brief delays.

Routes 674, 682, 683, 684, 744, 800 – Machining of gravel roads. Motorists should obey traffic controls and expect minor delays.

 

Fluvanna County

Route 6 (East River Road) – Replacement of the Rivanna River bridge. Temporary lane closures may occur, with traffic controlled by flaggers. Motorists should be alert for traffic controls as they approach the area. Anticipated completion October 2015.

Route 6 (West River Road) – Replacement of the Hardware River bridge. Temporary lane closures may occur, with traffic controlled by flaggers. Motorists should be alert for traffic controls as they approach the area. Anticipated completion May 2015.

Routes 601, 605, 619, 625, 631, 639, 659, 663, 685, 686, 761 – Mowing and trimming. Motorists should be aware of mobile work zones and slow-moving equipment along the road shoulders. Reduce speed and follow traffic controls. Brief delays are possible.

Routes 613, 694 – Pavement patching. Flagging will occur. Motorists should slow down as they approach the work zone and expect brief delays.

 

Greene County

Routes 29, 33 – Mowing and trimming. Motorists should be aware of mobile work zones and slow-moving equipment along the road shoulders. Reduce speed and follow traffic controls. Brief delays are possible.

 

Louisa County

Interstate 64 – Paving. Alternating lane closures from exit 136 (Zion Crossroads) to Goochland County lineTuesdayFriday, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Motorists should expect minor delays.

Route 633 (Laslie Lane) – Rural Rustic Road hard-surfacing project. There will be lane closures with flagging MondayFriday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should expect brief delays.

 

Orange County

Routes 522, 601, 610, 612, 614, 616, 619, 620, 621, 629, 632, 634, 638, 651, 670, 671, 672, 673, 683, 699, 700, 701, 717, 737, 721, 736, 743, 757, 788, 1090, 1091 – Mowing and roadside trimming. Motorists should be aware of mobile work zones and slow-moving equipment along the road shoulders. Reduce speed and follow traffic controls. Brief delays are possible.

Route 647 (Old Gordonsville Road) – Shoulder repairs and ditching. Motorists should be aware of mobile work zones and slow-moving equipment along the road shoulders. Reduce speed and follow traffic controls. Brief delays are possible.

 

Rappahannock County

Surface treatment on the following roads between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Motorists should anticipate minor delays. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers and pilot trucks.

  • Route 617 from Route 616 to Route 618
  • Route 618 from Route 617 to Route 729
  • Route 621 from end of pavement to Route 626
  • Route 622 from 0.8 mile east of Route 626 to Route 729

Route 211, 231, 522, 729 Mowing and roadside trimming. Motorists should be aware of mobile work zones and slow-moving equipment along the road shoulders. Reduce speed and follow traffic controls. Brief delays are possible.

Routes 615, 662 – Shoulder repairs, ditching. Motorists should be aware of mobile work zones and slow-moving equipment along the road shoulders. Reduce speed and follow traffic controls. Brief delays are possible.

Routes 616, 640, 662 – Pavement patching. Flagging will occur. Motorists should slow down as they approach the work zone and expect brief delays.
