The following highway work is scheduled; weather permitting, in the Culpeper VDOT District during the upcoming week. Traffic movements may be restricted and speed limits reduced in work zones. Items in italics contain new or updated information.

Albemarle County
Interstate 64 – Paving. Alternating lane closures will occur overnight between mile marker 116 and the Route 22 (Louisa Road) bridge. Motorists should be alert for changes to the traffic pattern and expect minor delays.
Interstate 64 – Line painting in both directions and on ramps. Work will occur overnight Tuesday–Thursday utilizing a mobile work zone. Motorists should use caution around slow-moving vehicles and pass only when conditions are safe.
Route 29 (Monacan Trail) – Pipe replacement approximately one mile south of Interstate 64. Lane closures will occur in both directions. Motorists should expect delays and use caution in the work zone.
Routes 614, 618, 631, 668, 671, 678, 729, 732 – Mowing and roadside trimming. Motorists should be aware of mobile work zones and slow-moving equipment along the road shoulders. Reduce speed and follow traffic controls. Brief delays are possible.
Routes 618, 627, 636, 683, 693, 751, 1010, 1041, 1042, 1043, 1170, 1171, 1200, 1202, 1209, 1210, 1215 – Surface treatment and striping. Traffic will be controlled by flagging, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Expect minor delays.
Routes 620, 627, 640, 643, 665, 674, 729, 795, 824, 1170 – Pavement patching. Flagging will occur. Motorists should slow down as they approach the work zone and expect brief delays.
Route 631 (Fifth Street Extended) – Deck repairs on the bridge over Interstate 64. Flagging will occur daily, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.Motorists should expect brief delays.
Routes 673 (Slam Gate Road/Break Heart Road) – Maintenance of drainage ditches. Motorists should be alert for slow-moving equipment working along the shoulders and in the roadway; brief delays possible.
Route 692 (Plank Road) – Pipe replacement. Work will occur Wednesday–Thursday, 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the road closed during work hours only between Route 250 (Rockfish Gap Turnpike) and Route 691 (Ortman Road). Motorists should use the posted detour route.
Route 708 (Dry Bridge Road) – Bridge replacement. Road closed with traffic detoured via Route 787 (Gillums Ridge Road). Anticipated completion September 2014.
Routes 713, 722, 723 – Machining and grading gravel roads. Motorists should be alert for slow-moving equipment working in the roadway; brief delays possible.
City of Charlottesville
University of Virginia Grounds (Emmet Street, McCormick Road, University Avenue) – Paving. Flagging will occur daily, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Motorists should expect minor delays.
Culpeper County
Route 681 (Jacobs Ford Road) – Grading and installation of stone. Flagging will occur Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should expect brief delays.
Town of Culpeper
Route 15/29 Business (Madison Highway) – Construction of roundabout at Route 229 (Main Street). A new traffic pattern is in effect using a temporary signal.
The northbound and southbound lanes will be limited to one lane of traffic within 1,000 feet of the intersection between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Motorists should expect minor delays, reduce speed and follow traffic controls.
Route 229 (Main Street) – Construction of roundabout at Route 15/29 Business (Madison Highway). A new traffic pattern is in effect.
Lane closures will occur from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday–Thursday and 7 a.m. to 3:30
p.m. Friday. Motorists should expect minor delays, reduce speed and follow traffic controls.
Fauquier County
Interstate 66 – Line painting in both directions and on ramps. Work will occur overnight Monday utilizing a mobile work zone. Motorists should use caution around slow-moving vehicles and pass only when conditions are safe.
Routes 17, 50, 55 – Bridge deck washing on various structures Monday–Wednesday overnight, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Flagging will occur; expect brief delays.
Route 28 (Catlett Road) – Tree trimming. Flagging will occur from Route 15/29 (James Madison Highway) to Route 643 (Meetze Road) daily, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists should expect delays of up to 10 minutes.
Route 211 (Lee Highway) – Pipe installations. Westbound right lane closed from Warrenton town limits to Route 688 (Leeds Manor Road) on Monday–Tuesday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists should expect delays.
Route 710 (Rectortown Road) – Paving, striping and installation of shoulder stone from Route 55 (John Mosby Highway) to Route 713 (Maidstone Road). Flagging will occur from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Motorists should expect delays.
Route 806 (Elk Run Road) – Paving and striping from 1.2 miles south of Route 644 (Ritchie Road) to 0.8 mile north of Route 748 (Eskridges Lane). Flagging will occur from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.. Motorists should expect delays.
Fluvanna County
Route 6 (East River Road) – Replacement of the Rivanna River bridge. Contractor is continuing site-clearing work and will begin installation of shoring materials at the bridge abutments. Some work will require temporary lane closures with traffic controlled by flaggers. Motorists should be alert for traffic controls as they approach the area.
Route 6 (West River Road) – Replacement of the Hardware River bridge. Contractor is excavating on both sides of the river and beginning construction of the new bridge on the east side of the river. Some work will require temporary lane closures with traffic controlled by flaggers. Motorists should be alert for traffic controls as they approach the area.
Routes 605, 608, 624, 638, 647, 654, 656, 659, 684, 686 – Mowing and roadside trimming. Motorists should be alert for slow-moving equipment, educe speed and follow traffic controls. Brief delays are possible.
Greene County
Route 29 (Seminole Trail) – Mowing along shoulders and median. Motorists should be alert for slow-moving equipment, reduce speed and follow traffic controls. Brief delays are possible.
Routes 33, 608, 609 – Pavement patching. Flagging will occur. Motorists should slow down as they approach the work zone and expect brief delays.
Route 638 (Turkey Ridge Road) – Machining, grading and application of dust control on gravel roads. Motorists should be alert for slow-moving equipment working in the roadway; brief delays possible.
Route 647 (McMullen Mill Road) – Bridge work approximately 0.1 mile west of Route 637 (South River Road). Road closedWednesday, 9 a.m. to noon, with no vehicular access past bridge.
Louisa County
Routes 613 (Oakland Road) – Debris removal and mowing along shoulders, intersections and crossovers. Motorists should be alert for slow-moving equipment, reduce speed and follow traffic controls. Brief delays are possible.
Routes 613, 617, 626, 632, 640, 642, 649, 660, 675, 678, 691, 745, 860 – Mowing and roadside trimming. Motorists should be aware of mobile work zones and slow-moving equipment along the road shoulders. Reduce speed and follow traffic controls. Brief delays are possible.
Route 709 (Blueberry Lane) – Ditch maintenance and pipe replacement. Motorists should be alert for slow-moving equipment working along the shoulders and in the roadway; brief delays possible.
Madison County
Routes 625, 640, 642, 657 – Pipe replacements. Motorists should follow directional signs and traffic controls as they drive through the work area.
Rappahannock County
Route 522 (Sperryville Pike) – Bridge deck washing on various structures Sunday overnight, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Flagging will occur; expect brief delays.
