child porn chargesA Crimora man was arrested this week on child porn charges uncovered in an Albemarle County Police Department investigation.

Albert Henry Christy Jr., 49, was arrested at his home on Casey Street in Crimora on March 1 without incident.

Christy is being held at the Middle River Regional Jail in Augusta County on a $15,000 secured bond. He is awaiting a bond hearing in Albemarle County.

Christy was charged in Albemarle County with 11 counts of possession, reproduction, distribution, solicitation and facilitation of child pornography. He faces eight counts of the same charges in Augusta County.

These are felony charges that carry prison time of no less than five years, or no more than 20 years behind bars.

Over the course of the investigation, detectives determined Christy was involved in the distribution of sexually explicit material depicting children. Further details of the case will not be released at this time as this joint investigation between Augusta and Albemarle is still ongoing and additional charges are pending.
