ComedyJazz 6-07 FlierThe second installment of the Comedy with a Taste of Jazz Series is scheduled to touch the stage of the V. Earl Dickinson Building on the campus of Piedmont Virginia Community College on Saturday, June 7, 2014.  This fusion of comedy and jazz was created by the creator of the United Nations of Comedy and the Squeaky Clean Comedy Tour.

This installment has some big shoes to fill as part one of the series featured jazz genius John D’earth and his Cohort as well as comic sensation Antoine Scott.  Believe it or not, the shoes are fitting snug with one of the most prolific keyboard players alive, Art Wheeler, along with acclaimed musicians Robert Jospe and Jeff Decker.  The comedy sets will be provided by the hilarious Corey Marshall as seen at the Funnybone Comedy Club, the National Stand-Up Comedy Series and other major venues.

The premise of the Comedy with a Taste of Jazz Series is to bring something fresh to Charlottesville while merging and diversifying audiences.  This type of event is unprecedented in Charlottesville but historically, it was normal for comedians to perform in jazz clubs throughout the country.  Now, Charlottesville has the opportunity to experience a piece of the Harlem Renaissance and the funky jazz Chicago eras alike.  This new comedy and jazz fusion will host its series exclusively at PVCC due to its superb acoustics, intimate seating and its accessibility as the venue is conveniently located off of H’way 64 and route 20.

Doors of the V. Earl Dickinson Building which is located at 501 College Drive, Charlottesville, Va 22902 opens at 7:30p and showtime at 8:05p.  There is ample free parking and the venue is handicap accessible.

A percentage of every ticket sold and any sponsorship raised will benefit the Charlottesville Albemarle SPCA.  Tickets are a low $15 for students, groups of 15 or more & senior.  General Admission is only $20.  Pick up yours at Payne’s Beauty Supply (Cherry Ave), Sidetracks Music (Water Street) and Plan9 Music (Seminole Shopping Center).  Buy safely online at www.UnitedNationsofComedy.com  For more information or to sponsor this event, call the event promoter at 434.825.0650
