The Funny Womacks and VFW Post 9660 are hosting an evening of comedy in Broadway featuring Dewayne White, a combat wounded U.S. Army veteran-turned-standup comic.

The Saturday, Nov. 1 show is a fundraiser for local veterans through VFW Post 9660.

“This event means the world to our Post and to the veterans we serve,” VFW Post 9660 Commander Wayne Saylor said. “Every dollar raised goes right back into supporting local veterans and their families, whether it’s providing assistance, helping with outreach, or just making sure no one who served is forgotten. We’re incredibly grateful to The Funny Womacks for using laughter to lift up those who’ve sacrificed so much. We hope to see the community come out strong on Nov. 1.”

The show, which starts at 6 p.m., includes performances by co-hosts Dawn Womack and Jen Jones, and sets from Dawn Mast, Margie Clement, Chris Womack and the headliner, Dewayne White, who has performed at The Laugh Factory, The Funnybone, the now-shuttered Carolines on Broadway, and regularly tours with Armed Forces Entertainment.

“I’m so excited for this show, not just because I get to tell jokes, but because this time the laughter actually means something,” said Jen Jones, who is also a U.S. Army veteran. “Every ticket helps our local veterans, and that’s huge. So, if you’ve ever laughed at one of my posts, or just me in general, come prove it. Buy a ticket, bring a friend, and let’s pack this room for the people who gave us the freedom to laugh in the first place.”
