college world seriesUVA has advanced to the 2014 NCAA College World Series to be played June 14-25 at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Nebraska. A limited number of tickets for the CWS will be available for purchase by Virginia fans.

Virginia opens College World Series play at 7 p.m. CT Sunday against Ole Miss. The CWS features an initial round of double-elimination play within two pools of four teams each. The winners of each pool advance to play in the finals series, which is a best two-out-of-three competition. UVa’s pool also includes Texas Tech and tcu.

As a CWS participant, Virginia receives 700 tickets for each game in which the Cavaliers play, including tickets to be used for team seating. Virginia will not receive tickets for games in which the Cavaliers do not play.

Reserved tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. Tuesday (June 10) to Virginia Athletics Foundation donors and Virginia baseball season ticket holders. If tickets remain available, a public sale will be held June 11-12; fans must have a currently existing Virginia Athletics Ticket Office account in order to purchase tickets. Donors and season ticket holders can log in here to order tickets online. Virginia will not block any rooms for UVa fans for the CWS.

All team allotments are reserved seat tickets within sections designated by the NCAA. It is expected that the majority of tickets available for purchase by Virginia fans will be in the upper levels of TD Ameritrade Park, beyond the infield on the first- or third-base side. Tickets will be assigned for each game Virginia plays based on Virginia Athletics Foundation priority points held by ticket buyers, and assigned seating locations may vary by game. Customers will only be charged for games in which Virginia participates and they have requested, with the credit card presented on their application. Tickets must be picked up by the customer prior to each game, either at the team hotel during specified times prior to each Virginia game or at the Virginia window at TD Ameritrade Park immediately prior to each Virginia game. The team hotel is the Hilton Omaha located at 1001 Cass Street.

Team seating allotments will be in sections on the same side of the field as the Virginia team dugout in the 100, 200 and 300 levels. The side of the field in which the seats are located will change throughout the tournament depending upon the team’s dugout location.

Seating in Virginia’s block of tickets for each game will be accomplished in the following order: 1.) Baseball team guest allocation, 2.) Virginia Athletics Foundation donors in priority point order, 3.) 2014 Virginia baseball season ticket holders, and 4.) All other purchasers. It is likely that seating in the 300-level will be allocated to some VAF donors and season ticket holders as well as any other purchasers.  The University reserves the right to implement ticket limits per customer if demand exceeds supply.

To purchase general admission ticket books, fans may place an order by phone or in-person at the CenturyLink Center box office in Omaha on a first-come, first-served basis. The phone number to order these tickets is (402) 341-1500.
