The city and Paradiso Properties LLC have reached an agreement wherein the city is paying the LLC $158,130 toward costs related to completing the removal of the existing wall, repairing the building facade and other project costs in return for Paradiso Properties assuming responsibility for the veneer on the wall on their property at 329 W. Main St.
Under the agreement, announced by the city Wednesday afternoon, the city will also establish and maintain a contingency fund in the amount of $14,600 for the project.
The city is also agreeing to convey ownership of the wall and a narrow strip of property (ranging in width from a half-foot to 1.4 feet) immediately adjacent to the Paradiso property.
The agreement provides a time frame for accomplishing the necessary work and describes cooperative provisions to facilitate the project. It is anticipated that the project will be completed within 180 days.
