Chris Graham: Seriously, y’all don’t want to play that game

Chris Graham

Just reading over my lunch break a scintillating story on the Fox News website about how Media Matters, the liberal media watchdog, has in the minds of the Foxers been flouting its nonprofit status by straying too far into the area of advocacy.

Seriously, dudes, y’all don’t want to play that game.

I give credit to the right wing for its organized efforts over the past 40 years to create a machine including Fox News, talk-radio pundits like Rush Limbaugh and an alphabet soup of nonprofit think tanks to get its message out.

Liberals, on the other hand, pretty much have Media Matters, which I’m sure almost none of you have heard of, and fewer will ever care about.

Fox, in the report, seems to want Media Matters investigated and run out of town for using taxpayer dollars to attack, well, you know, Fox, since that’s primarily what Media Matters does.

OK, gotcha. At the same time, let’s investigate the Heritage Foundation, the Family Foundation, the American Enterprise Institute, and so on.

Oh, and by the way, what about that Fairness Doctrine that guarantees that our public airwaves represents fully all viewpoints from across the political spectrum?

As I said above, seriously, dudes, y’all don’t want to play that game.
