An Albemarle County teen has been charged with the robbery of a victim during the prearranged sale of a firearm in Charlottesville.

Charlottesville Police arrested Kelon McCory Washington, 18, of Scottsville, in the 4:30 p.m. Wednesday incident, which was reported in the 1000 block of 1st Street South in the city.

Washington reportedly robbed the victim at gunpoint during the sale and then fled on foot to a nearby apartment building.

Responding officers canvased the area and quickly located the apartment to which Washington had fled, in the 1000 block of 1st Street South.

Washington was taken into custody without incident, according to police.
