Charlottesville Police announced an arrest in the Sept. 12 shooting incident reported on the Downtown Mall.
Kejuan Augustus Anthony, 18, was arrested on Friday on three felony charges in association with the shooting, per a release.
It took the PD three days to publicly release images that investigators had seen hours after the shooting; we can assume getting those images out into the public domain had to have helped.
The release from the department patted police on the back for a job well done.
“This arrest, in less than a week after the shooting, is a direct result of the outstanding collaboration between our community, our detectives and our federal partners,” Police Chief Mike Kochis said, in a statement highlighted in the release.
“When local, state, and federal law enforcement work together with this level of urgency and coordination, it sends a clear message that violence in our community will not be tolerated, I’m grateful to the U.S. Marshals Service and the FBI for standing shoulder to shoulder with us to get this individual off our streets quickly and safely.”
