Charlottesville man dies from injuries in accident involving motorcycle, sedan

The Albemarle County Police Department has identified the victim of the crash that occurred on Sunday as 31-year-old Hunter M. Thomasson of Charlottesville.

According to ACPD, the accident that took Thomasson’s life involved a four-door sedan and a motorcycle that collided within the intersection of Rio Road East and Mall Drive.

Thomasson, according to police, was ejected from the motorcycle and succumbed to injuries sustained from the crash.

The driver of the sedan was wearing a seat belt and was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Albemarle County Police Department Crash Reconstruction Team.
