Charlottesville man arrested in string of vehicle break-ins in Augusta County

A Charlottesville man has been charged with multiple vehicle break-ins in the Teaverton subdivision in Fishersville.

Durron Ashton Harris, 21, was arrested and is being held at the Middle River Regional Jail without bond.

The arrest was made following a joint investigation between the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office and the Staunton Police Department.

The break-ins occurred Aug. 15-18.

According to the ACSO, Harris has been charged with:

  • 18.2-192- Felony credit card larceny
  • 18.2-96- Petit larceny, five counts
  • 18.2-147- Entering or setting in motion a vehicle with the intent to commit a crime, malicious mischief, or injury thereto, eight counts.

This remains an active investigation. Anyone with additional information, home surveillance footage or unreported incidents in the Teaverton area is asked to contact the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office at (540) 245-5333.
