CEO of Shenandoah Valley Partnership announces retirement

economic-forecast-headerRobin Sullenberger announced he will retire as of August 16 from the Shenandoah Valley Partnership.  Mr. Sullenberger has served as CEO for the Partnership for thirteen years, taking the position in 2000.

Mr. Sullenberger was highly involved in bringing SRI to the Valley and has continually worked to help local companies expand their business in the Valley.

“It has been a distinct honor to promote the Shenandoah Valley for business development over the past few years.    The business climate, educational facilities and quality of life are exemplary, and economic diversity has kept this region at the forefront of economic prosperity even in difficult times.   I strongly believe the best is yet to come for this great area and am honored to have played a part in its growth and particularly to have interacted with outstanding allies in the business community and beyond,” said Mr. Sullenberger.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors and members of SVP, I want to thank Robin for his exceptional leadership of the organization over the past thirteen years.  Through his vision he has clearly established SVP as an effective and well-respected organization.  He has used his many talents and extensive knowledge to foster economic growth and stability.  Our region has benefited greatly from his tireless efforts. We wish him the best,” said Greg Campbell, Chair of the Partnership and Executive Director of the Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport.

The Shenandoah Valley Partnership provides marketing services, site location assistance and support to existing businesses in the Central Shenandoah Valley.  The Partnership serves the counties of Augusta, Bath, Highland, Page, Rockbridge, Rockingham and Shenandoah, and the cities of Buena Vista, Harrisonburg, Lexington, Staunton and Waynesboro.
