Campbell County: Pedestrian on Route 460 dies after being struck by several vehicles

A Campbell County woman is dead after being struck by several vehicles while walking on Route 460 Saturday night.

According to Virginia State Police, Aniela Kowalczyk, 68, of Campbell County, died at the scene of the 8:17 p.m. accident.

VSP reported that a 2013 Chevy Suburban was travelling eastbound on Route 460, at the intersection with Scotts Farm Road, when it was unable to avoid hitting Kowalczyk, who was wearing dark-colored clothing while crossing the eastbound lanes.

Kowalczyk was then also struck by a 2010 Toyota Tacoma and a 2021GMC Canyon.

None of the drivers were injured in the crash.

All of the vehicles remained on scene.

There is no crosswalk in the area.

The crash remains under investigation.
