CAA Softball Tournament May 6-8 at JMU Veterans Memorial Park

jmu logoThe 2015 Colonial Athletic Association Softball Championship Tournament gets underway with two games Wednesday, May 6, at JMU’s Veterans Memorial Park.

The host Dukes come into the double-elimination tournament with the nation’s longest winning streak of 35 games and an overall record of 44-6, as well as national rankings as high as 17th.   JMU is the reigning champion and will face fourth-seeded Towson (35-20) at noon, followed by second-seeded Hofstra (34-11-1) and third-seeded Elon (30-20) at 3 p.m.  Tickets are $7 per day or $16 for the entire three-day event and can be purchased at the gate.

Wednesday’s winners will Thursday meet at noon and the losers will square off at 2:30 p.m.  The winner of the Thursday noon game will advance to Friday’s noon championship game.  The noon loser will battle the 2:30 winner at 5 p.m. Thursday with the survivor advancing into Friday’s championship round.
