I am super excited to tell you about this event.  I know I tend to be super excited about a lot that goes on in Staunton, but this one really excites me!  You see, most of what Staunton Insider has covered so far takes place indowntown Staunton. You can’t blame me, can you? There is always something happening there!

However, Staunton Insider is devoted to all of Staunton, so I tend to get extra super excited when I find a cool event outside of downtown.  And have I found a cool event for you!

This Sunday, November 2, 2014, C.F. Richards Junior Academy is hosting their annual Fall Festival in Staunton and invites the entire community to come out for some old-fashioned family fun!  C.F. Richards is a  private school located at 414 Sterling Street in Staunton.  For three decades now they have hosted this event, and local parent Lisa Craig describes it as “one of Staunton’s best kept secrets!”

Bring the entire family for an afternoon of face painting, tractor rides, a free concert provided by Heaven’s Mountain Band, a doughnut-eating contest, yummy treats, games, and much more.  Held from noon – 4 PM, there is no admission fee, but the event is run like an old-fashioned fair where tickets can be purchased for games and treats.  All of the proceeds go directly to the school’s Home and School Committee (similar to public schools’ PTA).  Last year’s event helped the school to install a new gym floor that students have been enjoying since!

So stop down this Sunday, bring the kids, and help support a small Staunton school while enjoying a day of Fall fun.  I hope to see you there!

Where you can find C.F. Richards Junior Academy:

414 Sterling Street in Staunton.  (After turning onto Barterbrook Rd from Greenville Ave, make your very first left onto Sterling Street.)

Check out their website here and be sure to like them on Facebook!

Want to enjoy some fresh citrus this holiday season?  You can also support C.F.Richards by ordering Florida grown citrus fruit from the school’s website.  No shipping charge if you have the fruit delivered to the school and pick it up there!  Click here for more details!
