Buchanan County | One man dead, ejected in single-vehicle crash on Tuesday

A fatal accident on Riverside Drive in Buchanan County Tuesday night claimed the life of one man.

James F. Ratliff, 71, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to Virginia State Police.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at 8:15 p.m. in the 1600 block of U.S. Route 460.

According to police, Ratliff’s Chevy HHR was traveling eastbound when it went of the left side of the road and overturned.

The crash remains under investigation.
