redskins-helmetThe Washington Redskins announced today that they have named Bruce Allen as president and general manager.

“I think the world of Bruce Allen and giving him both titles is appropriate,” said owner Dan Snyder.

Allen was named the Redskins’ executive vice president/general manager on December 17, 2009, after a decorated career spanning more than three decades as a general manager and executive with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Oakland Raiders and a successful run in the USFL with the Chicago Blitz and the Arizona Wranglers.
