Broken clavicle sidelines UVA wide receiver T.J. Thorpe

thorpeVirginia head football coach Mike London announced today that wide receiver T.J. Thorpe (Durham, N.C.) will be sidelined approximately 10 weeks after breaking his right clavicle during Wednesday afternoon’s team scrimmage. Thorpe, who is a graduate student at UVa, had surgery today (Aug. 13).

Thorpe transferred to Virginia after playing three seasons at North Carolina. He appeared in 34 games for the Tar Heels and had 42 career receptions for 574 yards and five touchdowns. He missed UNC’s 2012 season due to a broken foot he suffered during preseason training camp. Thorpe graduated from North Carolina with a degree in exercise and sport science and enrolled at Virginia last spring.
