A fatal officer-involved shooting is under investigation after an incident this afternoon at a 7-Eleven on West Lee Street in the Town of Broadway.
The shooting occurred at approximately 12:33 p.m.
The deceased individual, a 61-year-old male, has not been identified.
Virginia State Police report that the Town of Broadway Police Department has requested its assistance with the officer-involved shooting investigation.
The Bureau of Criminal Investigation Culpeper field office’s critical incident response team has been assigned to the case.
The investigation is active and ongoing, according to VSP.
