Why have vaccines become controversial in popular culture and what does the science say? What training and tactics are used in bicycle road-racing? How can I be an informed consumer when it comes to the items in my medicine cabinet?

bridgewaterThese are just a few of the questions answered by Bridgewater College faculty and staff who are featured in the newly released 2013-15 Speakers Bureau booklet. BC’s Speakers Bureau is a service to the local community and there is no charge for the presentations.

Is your organization, school or church looking for a speaker for a monthly meeting, class or special event? BC’s Speakers Bureau lists 80 presentations by 27 faculty and staff members.

The Speakers Bureau features a wide range of topics for all ages. Small music ensembles are also available for performances.

The booklet also includes topics appropriate for children, including a hands-on DNA workshop for elementary and home-schooled children and a presentation on how the brain is made and what it is good for.

Bridgewater speakers are also available to talk about current issues including American politics, foreign policy, international affairs, terrorism, the crisis in the Middle East and the emergence of China as a world power.

Experts can also help high-school students prepare for college and understand the college admissions process, financial aid, what it is like to be a college student and how to be a leader.
