One of the candidates for the Ward C seat on the Waynesboro School Board dropped out of the race on Monday.
We only know this because the candidate, Kelvin Washington, made the announcement in a release that he sent to the News Leader on Monday, in addition to posting the news on his Facebook page.
Seriously, how else would we know this, or anything else?
Per the Leader’s reporting here, this shocking dropout all happened organically, after “accusations were made against Ward C incumbent and Washington’s opponent, Debra Freeman, centering on the handling of funds while Freeman served as executive director of Waynesboro Area Refuge Ministry.”
The hell, you say!
Do tell us more, goodsirs!
Well, the accusations were “made by a person active in Washington’s campaign and who donated money to the effort.”
How’s that grab you?
Alas, the reporting doesn’t tell us who this singular “person” was behind the accusations; I guess we will just have to go on never knowing.
Anyway, the Leader tells us that Washington said in his statement that he’s “sorry.”
For what, we’re not sure.
If only somebody was around who could tell us more, because it seems like an awful lot is being left out.
I mean, I get what Kennedy & The Twins have to say about Harry Potter is what gets the eyeballs over there, but still.
Maybe the Substacker with 200 subscribers can fill us in later, or her friend, the wannabe freelance photographer, he might know something.
Put those two with the folks at the Leader waiting for the next press release to do their work for them in the same room, and their collective efforts give them as much chance as the broken clock at being right twice a day.
