Boys & Girls Club of Waynesboro, Staunton, and Augusta County names new development director

The Boys & Girls Club of Waynesboro, Staunton, and Augusta County announced the addition of Rosalind “Roz” Cook to its leadership team as the Development Director.

The strategic hire represents a significant step forward in advancing the Club’s mission to serve more youth and families while ensuring programs remain affordable and accessible for all.

Cook holds a bachelor’s degree in English, with a concentration in writing and journalism, from Tusculum College, along with several certifications in service-related fields. She previously held multiple roles at New Directions Center, where she demonstrated excellence in stakeholder cultivation, event management, partnership development and nonprofit leadership. Her ability to build impactful relationships and secure critical resources will be vital as the Club executes its strategic plan to expand services and strengthen its foundation.

“Roz’s experience and passion for community-driven work align perfectly with our vision to serve more
members, more often,” Debra Freeman, CEO of the Boys & Girls Club, said. “Her leadership will help us not
only grow our fundraising efforts but also bring together our marketing, communications, and fundraising
strategies, ensuring a cohesive approach to achieving our goals.”

Cook said she is honored to join the Club during a time of growth.

“I look forward to collaborating with Debra, the board and our community partners to strengthen our impact and create opportunities for the youth and families we serve,” Cook said.

In her new position, Cook will help ensure that the Club has the resources needed to expand its reach and
provide life-changing programs to more youth across the region.

With a more than 150-year history and more than 25 years of service locally, Boys & Girls Club programs & activities are proven, tested, evidence-based and nationally recognized. The local organization provides meals and youth development services via after-school and out of school time programs for children 5 years and older. Boys & Girls Club of Waynesboro, Staunton, & Augusta County operates sites in Waynesboro and Staunton.
