Update: Body found in Chris Greene Lake in Albemarle County

Update: Wednesday, 4:49 p.m. Albemarle County Police have recovered the body and vehicle involved with this morning’s suspected drowning at Chris Greene Lake. The park is now re-open to the public.

The final cause of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. However, at this time, ACPD does not suspect foul play or other parties responsible.

Original post: Wednesday, 12:42 p.m. Albemarle County Police Department and Albemarle County Fire Rescue responded to a report of a body found in Chris Greene Lake at 8:11 a.m. Wednesday.

The Underwater Recovery Unit is currently on-site to recover the body.

Chris Greene Lake Park is closed to the public at this time.

This is an ongoing investigation. Updates will be provided when they become available.
