AFP

blue-ridge-headerThe National Park Service (NPS) has issued a prospectus for a concessions business opportunity along the Blue Ridge Parkway.  The prospectus is for a 10-year concession contract to provide Lodging, Food and Beverage, and Retail at Pisgah Inn along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Concessioners fill a vital role in helping the National Park Service carry out its mission. A concessions operation is a way of providing commercial visitor services such as food, lodging, and retail through a third party (concessioner) within a national park. Concession contracts are generally valid for 10 years or less.  The current 10-year contract for management of Pisgah Inn expires on December 31, 2014.

Pisgah Inn is located on the Blue Ridge Parkway at Milepost 408.6, approximately 24 miles southwest of Asheville, North Carolina.  The Concession Opportunity includes the three building, 51-room Lodge, the Restaurant and Gift Shop, the Country Store, and employee housing.  Its ridgeline setting at an elevation of 5,000 feet provides spectacular views of surrounding mountains and valleys.

All offers must be received by the NPS at the address listed on the inside front cover of the prospectus no later than 4:00 p.m.on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, in order to be evaluated and considered for an award of a concession contract.  The prospectus describes the business opportunity and includes the terms and conditions under which the NPS will award the concession contract.

The prospectus will be available on the NPS website at http://concessions.nps.gov/prospectuses.htm, or you can receive a hard copy for $40.00.  To request a hard copy of the prospectus to be delivered via Federal Express, send a check for $40.00 payable to the National Park Service to Mark Morgan at the address listed below.  Please include a physical address (no post office box) and telephone number.  You may also pick up a printed copy at the Superintendent’s Office at Park Headquarters for $40.00 (checks only).
