The fifth MAPP2Health Community Health Assessment is currently taking place in the Blue Ridge Health District, and there are multiple ways to provide input.
The Blue Ridge Health District, Sentara Jefferson Hospital and UVA Health conduct the assessment every three years to address the key challenges in improving health equity across the region.
The Blue Ridge Health District includes Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson counties and the City of Charlottesville.
This summer, the BRHD went to households in Arrington, Amherst, Faber, Gladstone, Howardsville, Norwood, Schuyler, Shipman and Wingina to do in-person surveys.
MAPP2Health, Mobilizing for Action through Planning and Partnerships to Health, has multiple ways to get involved including focus groups, an online survey and a stakeholder survey.
BRHD plans to host up to 21 focus groups in the next three months. There will be in-person and virtual options. Each participant will receive a $25 Food Lion gift card.
If you are 18 or older, you may also participate in a community health survey through January 2025.
Finally, the survey is looking for input from staff, administrators, agencies and coalitions serving the region to take its Stakeholder Survey.
