Bland County: Man dead after homemade off-road vehicle crashes Wednesday

A 54-year-old man died after a homemade, off-road vehicle he was driving crashed in Bland County on Jan. 1.

Bradley S. Davis, 54, of Bland, died at the scene.

Roberta A. Davis, 55, a passenger, suffered serious injuries and was taken to an area hospital. Her current condition is unknown.

Neither were wearing a seatbelt, according to Virginia State Police.

The crash occurred at 12:01 a.m. on New Year’s Day on Sugar Bottom Road, near Waddle Town Road. The vehicle went off the left side of the road and down an embankment. The vehicle overturned, and both the driver and passenger were ejected.

According to State Police, the vehicle then came to rest at the ditch line.

The crash remains under investigation by VSP.
