lgo_mlb_baltimore_oriolesAll-Star Jacob deGrom limited Baltimore to a run on five hits in seven and two-thirds innings, and the Mets held off a ninth-inning rally to post a 5-3 win over the Orioles on Tuesday night in Camden Yards.

deGrom (12-6, 1.98 ERA) struck out six and walked one, outdueling Kevin Gausman (2-5, 4.48 ERA), who gave up three runs on six hits in six innings, striking out six and walking one.

The O’s (61-57) made it interesting in the ninth, loading the bases with two outs, then getting a pair of runs on walks to J.J. Hardy and Henry Urrutia, before New York closer Jeurys Familia got Manny Machado to ground out to third to end it.

Baltimore falls to five games out of first in the American League East, and is tied for the second wild-card spot in the AL with the L.A. Angels.
