Baltimore man dead, found with extensive injuries lying on Route 29 in Greene County

A man found with extensive injuries in the travel lanes on U.S. 29 in Greene County Saturday night has died.

Juan Jose Mancia Pinto, of Baltimore, Md., died at the scene.

Virginia State Police responded to the scene, one mile north of the Albemarle County and Greene County line, at approximately 11:14 p.m. on Aug. 17.

It is unknown what led up to the body being found on Seminole Trail.

VSP is investigating the suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
