How bad does TNA want to run New York? Try $300,000 for three shows

tnaThe Hammerstein Ballroom has hosted big-time WWE and ecw events. Now tna wants to run shows out of the New York City landmark, and it will be paying a pretty penny to do so.

ProWrestling.net is reporting that tna is spending $300,000 to produce Impact Wrestling TV shows in June, July and August.

The speculation is that TNA, which continues to struggle in the ratings, at or around 1 million viewers weekly on SpikeTV, a fraction of what WWE gets weekly on USA and SyFy, is trying to impress Spike, which is based in New York City.

Spike and tna are working on renegotiating their TV deal at a time when WWE has opened up its own TV rights after letting its partnership with NBCUniversal get past an exclusive negotiating deadline.

WWE and Spike worked together for three years back in the 2000s decade, and Spike’s corporate parent, Viacom, is said to be among the possible suitors for WWE programming in the future.
