The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Saturday with a forecast of 5 inches or more of snow possible during the day.
The precipitation is expected to start as snow before changing over to freezing rain Saturday afternoon.
Temperatures are forecast to rise through the day and into Sunday, with the precipitation changing to rain before it leaves the area on Sunday, with highs that day near 50 degrees.

A “heat dome” is worse than a “heat wave,” I’m learning, because “heat dome” refers to hot weather that can last a week or more, while a “heat wave” can be over in as few as three days.
With the heat dome on its way, PETA is urging people who see a dog chained outside in the sweltering heat to call authorities immediately – or to call PETA, if they don’t get the help they need from their local cops.
