Augusta Health to open clinics in Staunton, Waynesboro Walmarts

Walmart and Augusta Health announced on Monday that Augusta Health will open “The Clinic at Walmart” in its Staunton store on Sunday, July 3, with plans to open a similar clinic in its Waynesboro store in September.

The clinics will provide convenient, affordable access to basic health care services, seven days a week, with no appointment necessary. The walk-in health clinic is the first owned and operated by Augusta Health in a Walmart. The clinic will be open for walk-in care Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.

For busy customers who need care, especially after working hours or on weekends, the clinic will treat common health ailments and offer routine services. These include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Acne
• Bladder infections
• Blood sugar testing
• Camp and school physicals
• Cholesterol screening
• Common vaccinations
• Earaches
• Flu
• Insect bites and stings
• Minor wounds
• Sinus infections
• Upper respiratory infections
• Wart removal

Courtenay Beebe, MD. “Our clinic is staffed with licensed health care providers, even on nights and weekends, so families can walk in and know they will receive quality care without a long wait. Our mission is to serve this community, and the clinic is one more way we fulfill our mission.”

“The clinic will fill a need for many of our patients who may not have a family physician. They can come here at night or on the weekends if needed and be treated by a medical professional without having a long wait.”

During its first year of operation, the Clinic at Walmart in Staunton will be open 57 hours per week, and many of those hours will be evening and weekend hours. The providers expect to serve more than 6,100 patients during that year. If the need is greater than expected, more hours will be added to meet the patients’ needs.
