Chris Graham

Robert McWhirt, RN, BSN, MSN, is the new Chief Nursing Officer at Augusta Health.   McWhirt’s predecessor, Lisa Cline, MSN, MBA, is now Augusta Health’s Vice President of Operations.

McWhirt, who began his career as a nurse in the Emergency Department and PCU (Progressive Care Unit), has extensive experience in nursing and administrative positions.  “The nursing staff here at Augusta Health is amazing,” says McWhirt.  “Their high level of nursing skill is augmented by their passion and compassion for patient care.  That is what attracted me to want to join this team of professionals.  I am proud to now be an Augusta Health Nurse.”

After graduating from Hahnemann University with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing, McWhirt earned his Masters of Science in Nursing from Hahnemann University.  He will receive his Doctor of Nursing Practice from Walden University in December, 2012.  He is a Certified Nurse Administrator and a Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist in Medical Surgical/Adult Medicine.  He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

“My wife and I are excited to become part of the Augusta County community,” adds McWhirt.  He is the past Chair of the United Way in Calvert County, Maryland, and serves as President of the Korejado International Christian Martial Arts Association.  “We look forward to getting involved in the community.”
