Augusta Free Press editor Chris Graham to call radio play-by-play for VMI football

chrisAugusta Free Press editor Chris Graham will handle radio play-by-play duties for three VMI football home games in the 2015 season.

Graham will call the Keydets’ home games with Chattanooga on Oct. 17, Wofford on Oct. 31 and the season finale with Western Carolina on Nov. 21.

Kickoff for each of the three games is at 1:30 p.m.

Games are broadcast on the VMI Radio Network, which includes WWZW-FM 96.7 FM (Lexington, Lynchburg), WNTW 820 AM (Richmond) and WRTZ 1410 AM (Roanoke).

Graham served as the play-by-play voice of the Waynesboro Generals Valley League baseball team from 2009-2013. He was also the host of “Virginia Viewpoints” on WVPT, and the co-host of “ACC Nation,” a syndicated sports-talk show, in addition to being a regular guest on WREL-1450 in Lexington, Va., and Sports Radio 1560-The Fan in Melbourne, Fla.

The winner of 17 Virginia Press Association awards for journalistic excellence, Graham is also the author of five books, and the co-author of a book on the history of University of Virginia basketball, Mad About U: Four Decades of Basketball at University Hall.
