augusta countyThe Augusta County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in information pertaining to fraud.

An Augusta County resident recently contacted the Sheriff’s Office to report an incident of fraud. The victim was contacted by their bank due to a suspicious purchase made using their bank debit card.  The purchase was for skin care products for the amount of $735.  The item was delivered by Fed-Ex to the victim’s residence with the recipient’s name listed as “Barbara Russell.”

Subsequently, the victim received several pick-up attempt notices left on their door claiming to be from Fed-Ex.

If you have any information or have been a victim to a similar incident, contact Inv. D. Browning at the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office at 540-245-5333.
