Update: Augusta County man reported missing by family member

Update: Wednesday, 9:36 a.m. Jeremy Scott Pelter has been safely located, according to a report from the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office.


First report: Tuesday, 10:48 a.m. A 41-year-old man has been reported missing, and the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office is requesting assistance locating him.

Jeremy Scott Pelter was last seen at his residence on Sunday. He was reported missing last night by a family member.

Pelter is a white male who is 6’0” tall, 225 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes.

He should be driving a 2021 Black Hyundai Palisade with Virginia tags and PELTERS on the license plate.

Pelter left his Waynesboro residence and was going to visit a friend in West Virginia. It is unknown if he made it there.
