The Shenandoah Music Trail will recognize musician and Grottoes resident Caleb Bailey this weekend for his dedication to preserving and promoting bluegrass music throughout Virginia.

Bailey leads the band, Paine’s Run, which achieved the number one position on Bluegrass Today charts with the song “Grim Reaper.” He released his “Pride of Appalachia” album in February.

Bailey will receive a certificate of recognition during the 2025 No Bull Just Bluegrass Festival held July 4-5 in Harrisonburg.

“Caleb Bailey exemplifies what it means to be a steward of bluegrass tradition,” said Donald DePoy, executive director. “Through his artistry and festival leadership, he’s creating vital connections between past and future generations.”

The No Bull Just Bluegrass Festival will be held at the Rockingham County Fairgrounds.

The festival honors the historic tradition begun by Bill Clifton, who organized the world’s first bluegrass festival on July 4, 1961, in Luray — 64 years ago.
