
As part of its Project Velocity IP (VIP), an investment plan focused on network enhancement and expansion, AT&T in 2014 made 350 wireless network upgrades and built 63 new cell sites in Virginia. Notable enhancements include LTE cell site upgrades in Richmond,Arlington, Fairfax and Alexandria.

Notable Virginia network enhancements in 2014 included:
- Upgraded LTE cell site in Richmond
- Expanded mobile internet coverage in Cumberland
- New LTE cell site in Hanover
