The Gaines Group PLC, an architectural firm with more than 22 years of experience in Central Virginia, will on Tuesday officially open its Harrisonburg office to serve its growing clientele in the Shenandoah Valley.
“We are opening our second office in Central Virginia because of the huge demand for green architectural design and LEED consulting services in the area”, explains Charles Hendricks, AIA, CSI, CDT, LEED AP, the principal in charge of the Harrisonburg office.

“There is a real need in the area for practical design solutions that offer clients energy efficiency, durability, and healthy indoor air quality. We are expanding our service area to enable us to continue to provide the high quality of service and personal attention that our clients have come to expect from us over the last 22 years.”

The new office is located in Downtown Harrisonburg at 107 S. Main St, Suite 2.

The Gaines Group is on the web at www.thegainesgroup.com.

The Gaines Group, named the “best green designers” in Virginia by the Virginia Sustainable Building Network in 2008, is known for its attention to detail, knowledge of green architecture, and for their practical approach to design projects. As an award winning graphic design firm and a leader in the “green” movement in Central Virginia, the firm has the ability to deliver the complete package for a design project, from marketing, 3-D modeling, design, specification development, LEED consulting, to construction documents.

The Gaines Group was established in 1987 in Charlottesville. Principals in the firm include Raymond E. Gaines, RA, CSI, CCS, Charles B. Hendricks, AIA, CSI, CDT, LEED AP, and Roger N. Bryant, CSI. The firm has worked on a multitude of green projects including the first LEED for Homes certified project in the Southeast United States and the first LEED for Homes high-school-student-built project in the United States.

Other projects include a historic tax credit LEED for Homes project, a LEED NC industrial project and commercial office, a LEED ND neighborhood project, and a LEED CS office project as well as various projects certified under the Earthcraft program.
