Amherst County: Single-vehicle crash kills 24-year-old man on Saturday night

A Madison Heights man is dead after crashing his car in Amherst County on Saturday night.

Christhian A. Zuniga Castro, 24, died at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

The fatal single vehicle crash that occurred at 11 p.m. on Izaak Walton Road when his Ford Taurus ran off the right side of the road in a curve. Castro then overcorrected, ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree, according to Virginia State Police.

The crash remains under investigation.
