Alexandria | One dead after disabled vehicle struck on Interstate 395

Charges are pending in a fatal two-vehicle crash on Interstate 395 in Alexandria early Saturday morning.

Hennry O. Ortuno Flores, 45, of Springfield, suffered serious injuries and later died at an area hospital.

Flores’ Toyota Corolla crashed and was disabled in the southbound lanes of I-395 near the three mile-marker, according to Virginia State Police.

A Hyundai Venue travelling southbound at a high rate of speed struck the disabled vehicle at approximately 2:20 a.m.

Flores was not wearing a seatbelt when the second crash occurred, according to police.

The driver of the Hyundai, Dina I. Villalobos Lazo, 41, of Woodbridge, suffered minor injuries.   Villalobos Lazo was wearing a seatbelt.

The crash remains under investigation.
