The Albemarle County Police Department is seeking the whereabouts of a missing person, 80-year-old Lawrence Thomas, who was last seen between 5-6 p.m. Sunday walking to the mailbox of his residence on the 7000 block of Secretary Sands Road.

Thomas is described as 5 feet 5 inches in height and approximately 130 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes.

He was reportedly last seen wearing a green T-shirt and blue denim jeans.

Thomas has dementia, and his disappearance poses a credible threat to his health and safety.

Community members may see a large police presence in this area while ACPD and the Albemarle County Sheriff’s Office complete search and rescue operations.

Anyone with information on Thomas’ location is encouraged to contact the Albemarle County Police Department at 434-977-9041.
