A Crozet family has been displaced from their Orchard Drive home after a fire early this morning.

Albemarle County Fire Rescue responded to the reported structure fire at 5:16 a.m. Saturday.

The first suppression apparatus on scene discovered heavy smoke conditions coming from the laundry room of the single-family residence.

All of the residents safely evacuated from the home, and there were no injuries reported.

The three displaced residents are being assisted by the American Red Cross.

The root cause of the accidental fire is being investigated by the Fire Marshal’s Office but is believed to have started with a clothes dryer.
