2015 Rockingham County Fair has second biggest week in Fair history

AFP

rockingham fairThe 2015 Rockingham County Fair concluded Saturday with the second largest crowd in Fair history. Attendance on Saturday, August 22 was 19,401, surpassed only by Saturday of 2014 when 20,041 people attended the last day of the fair.

Overall Fair week attendance for 2015 was 89,811 people – the second largest in Fair history. The largest Fair week ever was 2014 when 91,595 people attended the Fair.

One factor which may have played a role in the apparent decrease in overall attendance is that no event was conducted on the Saturday prior to the official opening.

Therefore Fair week was technically shorter than in years past.

Taking this into account, the following can be stated:

* Average daily attendance in 2014 (spread over 8 days – Saturday to Saturday) was 11,449.
* Average daily attendance in 2015 (spread over 7 days – Sunday to Saturday) was 12,830
