Virginia State Police: 19-year-old dead following crash in Patrick County

A 19-year-old Virginia man is dead following a single-vehicle crash on Route 58 in Patrick County.

William Aiden Royall, 19, of Stuart, died at the scene Monday night.

Virginia State Police is investigating the accident that occurred on Aug. 5 at 7:35 p.m., two tenths of a mile east of Route 831.

A 2014 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling east on Route 58, driven by Royall, when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway, struck the guardrail and an embankment.

Royall was not wearing his seatbelt, according to police.

The crash remains under investigation.
