The Shenandoah Valley Athletic Club kicks off its seventh season of monthly dinner meetings with its annual local college preview featuring football coaches Mickey Matthews of James Madison University and Bridgewater College’s Mike Clark. This popular annual event of the SVAC’s season is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 10, at the Ramada Inn in Harrisonburg with a social from 6-6:45 p.m., followed by dinner and the coaches’ remarks.

The Shenandoah Valley Athletic Club is made up of people from througout the Valley who share a common interest in scholastic, intercollegiate and professional athletics. Social in nature with athletics as its focal point, the SVAC has featured many renowned speakers at its monthly meetings; names familiar to Valley sports enthusiasts such Frank Herzog, Rick Mast, Dell Curry, George Allen, Dan Bonner, Dexter Manley, Marsha Kinder, Scott Norwood, Betsy Blose, Lindsey Czarniak, George Welch, Bud Foster and Sonny Randle, to name but a few.
