The Supreme Court has rejected an appeal filed by lawyers for sex trafficker and Donald Trump pal Ghislaine Maxwell, who you may remember got a nice upgrade in her living arrangements in August for being willing to play ball with the Justice Department on the Jeffrey Epstein case.
The Trump DOJ did its job to try to get the Epstein files to go away, but the Trump Supreme Court – not willing to play ball.
The order was handed down by the court without comment on Monday.
Maxwell’s 20-year sentence from her 2021 conviction in the sex-trafficking case involving her billionaire boyfriend, also a close Trump confidante, thus stands, pending possible action by Trump to issue a pardon.

You can’t put that past him – Trump has pushed House Speaker Mike Johnson to keep the House of Representatives on break so that Adelita Grijalva, who won a special election for an Arizona House seat last month, and has said she will be the 218th House member to sign a petition to force a vote on the release of the Epstein files, can’t be seated.
It’s hard to figure how this doesn’t end without the files being made public – and it’s hard to assume that Trump hasn’t been fighting their release tooth and nail for no reason.

It could very well be the case that a full Supreme Court hearing of the Maxwell appeal could have led to uncomfortable revelations regarding Trump’s role in the Epstein sex-trafficking ring.
Maxwell’s conviction was based on evidence showing that she had recruited and groomed girls as young as age 14 between 1994 and 2004 before they were abused sexually by Epstein.
Victims have said that there were other powerful men in addition to Epstein involved in the sex ring, and have vowed to release their own client list if the legal and political maneuvers to keep the list under wraps continue.
Oral arguments at the Supreme Court could have given us a glimpse into the many unknowns in this case.
In the meantime, Maxwell’s legal team said Monday that the “fight isn’t over,” though, I dunno, sure looks like it is, unless there’s some venue above the Supreme Court that can give them another hearing.
To that end, the word from the Trump White House, for now, is, no pardon is pending.
At least Maxwell is in the country club prison.
For now.
