Sponsored by Governor Terry McAuliffe and overseen by the Office of the Secretary of Commerce and Trade, the Virginia Velocity awards focus on recognizing outstanding entrepreneurs in the state who are building success through innovation in key strategic growth sectors such as bioscience and energy.

The four finalists were selected by independent judges and two rounds of competition. Perthera is one of two finalists in the bioscience category and will now compete in a final competition round for a cash award of $800,000. Winners will be announced next Tuesday, Sept. 8, at CenterStage in Richmond, Virginia.
