Only Nashville could give birth to a band like The SteelDrivers: a talented group of seasoned musicians –each distinguished in his or her own right.  The group’s bluegrass roots combine with country and soul influences to create a refreshing, decidedly contemporary sound. This is new music with the old feeling.

The SteelDrivers fan Vince Gill describes the band’s fusion as simply “an incredible combination.” In 2011, the English pop star Adele began performing The SteelDriver song “If It Hadn’t Been For Love” in her live performances.  “They’re a blues, country, bluegrass, swagger band, and they are brilliant,” Adele said.

American Idol contestant, C.J. Harris, also covered the song on the last season of the show.  The band has released 3 albums on Rounder Records and will begin recording their 4th project this fall. The SteelDrivers, composed of Gary Nichols, Tammy Rogers, Mike Fleming, Richard Bailey and Brent Truitt, are currently touring the U.S. and Canada while gearing up to go into the studio to work on a new project. They have performed on numerous radio and TV shows ranging from The Grand Ole Opry to NPR’s Mountain Stage to the Conan O’Brien show.
