Albemarle County announces hiring of new economic develoment director

albemarleAlbemarle County has named Faith McClintic as its new economic development director effective April 1, 2015. McClintic will be the first director of the County’s newly established Economic Development Office. In this role, she will lead the County’s efforts to foster and encourage best practices in economic development activities that provide for quality job creation and sustainable employment opportunities, increased business tax base, and an improved quality of life for all citizens.

“We believe Faith’s extensive experience in economic development at the local level as well as her track record of collaboration makes her well-qualified for the unique opportunities associated with the establishment of a comprehensive economic development program for Albemarle County,” said County Executive Tom Foley in announcing the selection.

McClintic brings over 22 years of local government experience, including economic development leadership positions in Chesterfield County and Stafford County. Most recently, McClintic has been a small business owner, operating an independent consulting firm, Spectrum Growth Solutions, specializing in economic development and marketing services.

“We are pleased to have someone with Faith’s professional  background and expertise join with our senior leadership team and our community partners in furthering economic vitality for Albemarle County ,” said Foley.

McClintic has a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from James Madison University and has completed graduate MBA work at the University of Richmond. She has also completed the Certified Economic Developer Program through the International Economic Development Council (IEDC).
